Safeguarding

Safeguarding and Promoting Student Wellbeing at Links Multi Academy Trust

At Links Multi Academy Trust, the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of our students are our highest priorities. Our mission is to provide an environment where every child feels secure, supported, and valued. Safeguarding is not just about responding to harm; it’s about creating a culture where students thrive and learn in confidence.

Our Commitment to Student Safety

We are committed to:

  • Providing a nurturing and safe environment where students can develop academically, emotionally, and socially.
  • Identifying and addressing any concerns that may impact a child’s safety or wellbeing.
  • Promoting a culture of respect, trust, and care among students, staff, and the wider school community.

Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment

We achieve this by:

  • Maintaining a welcoming and secure school environment that supports diversity and inclusion.
  • Actively teaching students about personal safety, including online safety, mental health awareness, and healthy relationships.
  • Encouraging open communication so students feel comfortable sharing concerns or seeking support.

Recognising and Responding to Concerns

While our focus is on proactive wellbeing measures, we are also vigilant about identifying when a child may need additional support. Concerns may arise through:

  • Changes in a child’s behaviour or appearance.
  • Signs of emotional distress or physical harm.
  • Disclosures from the child or concerns raised by others.

When we identify concerns, we act in accordance with local safeguarding procedures, prioritizing the child’s welfare. Any actions taken are done with care and respect, and without assumptions about the cause of concern.

What Should I Do If I Have a Concern?

If you have any concerns about the wellbeing of a student, we encourage you to reach out:

  • If your concern involves a member of staff or volunteer: Report it directly to the Head of School.
  • If your concern involves the Head of School: Report it to the Chair of the Governing Body.

All concerns are handled with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every student.

Online and Digital Safety

In today’s connected world, we recognize the importance of protecting students in online spaces. Our approach includes:

  • Educating students about responsible online behaviour and digital citizenship.
  • Monitoring and managing the use of technology within the school.
  • Providing resources for families to support safe internet use at home.

Working Together for Student Wellbeing

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. At Links Multi Academy Trust, we work closely with students, families, and external organizations to ensure every child receives the care, support, and protection they need to succeed.

If you would like further information about our safeguarding policies or have concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Together, we can ensure that every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.
