What We Do

The NCFE Level 2 Business course is a practical and engaging programme that introduces students to key aspects of starting and running a business. The course includes four units:

  • Initial Steps for a Start-Up Business: Understanding how to identify and pursue a viable business idea.
  • Marketing for a Start-Up Business: Learning effective strategies to promote and sell a product or service.
  • Legal and Financial Considerations for a Start-Up Business: Gaining knowledge of the legal requirements and financial management necessary to run a business.
  • Developing a Business Plan for a Start-Up Business: Creating a comprehensive plan that outlines the structure, strategy, and goals of the proposed business.

The course is 100% coursework-based, with assessments internally marked and externally moderated. Students engage in investigations, analyses, and evaluations of various business activities, functions, and processes, which prepares them for both practical and theoretical challenges in the business world.

Why We Do It

Business knowledge is a vital skill that benefits students throughout their lives. This course not only prepares students for progression into employment or further training within the business sector but also helps them develop:

  • An understanding of how businesses operate and the factors that influence them.
  • Analytical and evaluative skills essential for making informed decisions.
  • Practical knowledge to start and manage their own business ventures.

By learning to identify opportunities and challenges, students gain confidence in their ability to navigate the complexities of the business world.
