What We Do

At Links Academy, we aim to build confidence and promote enjoyment of sport and physical activity by:

  • Creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and learning from mistakes.
  • Improving fitness levels while fostering resilience and teamwork.
  • Helping students become healthy and active young people, both physically and mentally.

The course integrates closely with Science (Biology) by consolidating knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and with Catering and Cooking by deepening students' understanding of healthy eating and nutrition. It also includes opportunities for leadership, such as organising and running sports events, helping students build confidence and organisational skills. For those interested in future careers, this course provides a foundation for pathways in coaching, sports development, and the leisure industry.

Why We Do It

Our aim is to encourage students to embrace active and healthy lifestyles, which contribute to positive wellbeing and mental health. By combining theory and practical work, students gain the tools to:

  • Understand the value of sport for maintaining health and fitness.
  • Use sport as a means of social engagement and personal development.
  • Build life-long habits that enhance physical and mental health.

This course empowers students not only to achieve academically but also to carry the lessons of sport and fitness into their daily lives.
